For me, this is one of those weeks when all the work and hope comes together and a dream comes true.
Our main goal when we set up the studio was to establish a centre of excellence. A place where the best teachers, the best classes and the best of yoga would come together in service of our community.
One aspect of this is our bhakti program. Bhakti is the music of yoga. Where most of us find our connection through asana and meditation, these master musicians feel their souls expand through devotional music. Their special gift is that they can take us along for the ride.
Anyone who came to our event in May with Brenda McMorrow and John de Kadt will know what I’m talking about. The atmosphere at a kirtan concert is amazing. The music simultaneously lifts us up as individuals and brings us together as a community.
I hope that you’ll join us on Friday as another bhakti dream comes true. David Newman (Durga Das) is a world respected master in his field and his music is beautiful and heartfelt. He’s also responsible for training many up and coming bhakti practitioners at his Kirtan College.
