Sharing the Love by Jacquelyn

What is our purpose?

Firstly, thank you to everyone who came along yesterday for our First Anniversary celebrations. We were so touched that you took the time to drop by. It was wonderful to celebrate the anniversary of the start of this community with you.

Anniversaries are a time for reflection and yesterday was no different. Mark Twain said that, ‘the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.’

When we started Radiant Joy Yoga we were working with a specific intention

We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming space where all members of our community can grow through the practice of yoga, meditation and mindfulness. Our team of qualified, knowledgable and compassionate teachers will assist you in finding a practice that is right for you. Your practice will be your gift to yourself.

Yesterday it was time to revisit our intention, both to make sure that we are living up to it and to see if the intention still represents what we want to create.

I spoke yesterday about what the Radiant Joy Yoga family can do in the world and I was inspired by this from the the Dalai Lama,

‘One family influences another, and then another, then ten, a hundred, and a thousand, and thus the whole of society will be better off.’

We hope that what we do at the studio and within our community or family will spread beyond our boundaries and influence the larger world. As we each work on ourselves we silently and humbly offer leadership to others. Always be aware that what you do influences those around you. In other words, share the love.

Our new intention now reads,

We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming space where all members of our community can grow through the practice of yoga, meditation and mindfulness. Our team of qualified, knowledgable and compassionate teachers will assist you in finding a practice that is right for you. Your practice will be your gift to yourself and to the world.

Thank you for all your support. This week I’ll be teaching classes based around your intentions for this year.

With love and thanks,

Jacquelyn
