How’s your karma? by Michelle
What kind of karma are you sending out?
You may have noticed the new box in the studio collecting pet food, towels, blankets and toys. This Friday I am teaching the Karma Yoga class (Dec. 7th from 7 pm to 8 pm) raising funds for the Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Control Centre.
I am also going to be teaching Natalie’s Thursday night class (new time starting at 7:45 pm), while she is preparing for the arrival of her new baby.
This week in classes I will be talking about karma yoga and how it applies to you. Typically, we think of karma as what we send out we get back, but it is so much more than that.
Without going too in depth, Karma is generated from every action that you take and karma yoga can be loosely defined as an action with no attachment to the outcome, which can also be called selfless action or selfless service.
The action in and of itself is the offering – we do something because we want to and not because we feel pushed to do it or because we may feel guilty if we don’t. No action ever goes to waste – no matter how small, and there is no failure where karma yoga is concerned.
How to Practice Karma Yoga
Simply, act with loving kindness, that heartfelt concern for another. Follow the little `tugs` you feel in your heart and with your intuition. Don’t worry about looking silly, or feel like you will stick out like a sore thumb – what`s the worst thing that could happen? You make a mistake – which lets you grow, expand and unfold.
Looks like a win-win – no matter the outcome.
