Bhakti Bliss This Friday
Join us for our first ever Bhakti Yoga concert. We will be joined by the very talented Brenda McMorrow and John de Kadt this Friday (10th May) at 7 pm for a kirtan concert.
We hope that you will join us for this amazing evening. Most of you will already be familiar with Brenda’s work as it’s often played during classes. John is an amazing percussionist, see his video One Hoop below.

We have partnered with Amy Ippoliti to bring you her 90 Minutes to Change the World Signature Course. This course usually costs $449US but is included in the overall cost of your 200 hr training. 90 Minutes to Change the World Signature Course is an online business of yoga and professional development program that has enhanced the teaching and career skills of over 1000 yoga studios and yoga teachers around the world.
Whether your intention is to teach yoga or not our 200 hr teacher training program will lead you through the adventure of becoming a yoga teacher in a safe and comprehensive way. Gaining not just knowledge and understanding but the skills and abilities you’ll need to create professional, successful, meaningful connections to your students.
Our 200 hour training is taught by Studio Director Jacquelyn O’Brien, a 500 hour certified and full time professional yoga teacher. Jacquelyn will help you find the teacher and message within you and give you the skills you need to bring that message to the world.
Covering all Yoga Alliance requirements you will acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- The yoga asanas (postures) including their sanskrit names and how to teach them
- Teaching methodologies and practical experience of teaching
- How to design a class / sequence
- Posture modification for individual students
- Assisting your students safely
- Anatomy and physiology
- Energy anatomy
- Yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics
- Meditation and mindfulness
- Pranayama and chanting
- The business of yoga and building your following
- 40 drop in classes (included in teacher training fee)

Upcoming workshops and series:
During May and June our good friend and colleague Julie Graydon will be taking over the Gentle Yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursdays at 6.15 pm. Please join us in welcoming Julie to the drop in schedule.
Julie was my first ever yoga teacher and I’ll always be grateful to her for her patience with my enthusiastic questions and the loving introduction she gave me to this practice that changed my life.
Yoga for Kids with Jacquelyn – Sunday 26th May at 11 am
This 45 minute workshops is for kids aged 4 and up who want to do yoga with their parent, grandparent or guardian. We’ll focus on fun stretches, games and a short meditation for kids. $12.50 per child plus HST.
Yoga for Beginners with Jacquelyn, our a four week program for those new to yoga, starts June 5th.

Friends On the Path Meditation Sangha
The Friends on the Path meditation sangha (community) is based on the ‘Engaged Buddhism’ teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay), Buddhist monk and Zen Master. Join us to establish or to support your mindfulness practices both on and off the cushion.
The sangha will meet on the third Sunday of each month between 10.45 am and noon. Time will be given to sitting practice, to mindful discussion and to enjoying recordings of dharma talks from Thay.
No meditation experience or knowledge of Buddhism is necessary. The group exists simply to provide support for our individual efforts to live mindfully.
This is a free group although you are welcome to bring a donation for the Uxbridge Food Bank if you feel moved to do so. Feel free to bring your own cushion / bench or to use our bolsters.
Next Sangha: Sunday 19th May, 10.45 am – noon.

Desiree’s Favourite Green Smoothie
Makes 4-6 servings
1 cup coconut water or water
1 cup kale leaves, roughly chopped
1 cup chard leaves, roughly chopped
1 cup parsley
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 pear or apple, cored, roughly chopped
Frozen mango, blueberries, pineapple, or banana, to taste
Directions1. Process your vegetables with liquids in the blender. Add fruit to taste, depending on how sweet you like your smoothies.
