Grounding Meditation by Jacquelyn
Do you meditate?
During this time of weather change and wild winds, we continue our theme of feeling grounded and stable. This week we turn to meditation.
Try this simple breath meditation to help you feel grounded in the here and the now.
Sit or lie down comfortably.
Begin by bringing your attention to your breath.
Gradually slow your breath, allowing it to move smoothly in and out of your body.
Allow your body to relax, any tension leaving with the exhale and dissolving into the air.
As you continue to breath slowly and deeply, repeat this gatha (short verse) slowly in your mind.
Breathing in I calm my body, breathing out I smile.
Dwelling in this present moment, I know it is a wonderful moment.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Join me in class this week to explore how meditation can help you ‘stick to the ground’ when all around you is in change and flux.
Next week we’ll look at the first chakra, muladhara.
