Coping with Change by Jacquelyn
What season is it anyway?
Looking at the weather forecast we’re lurching between winter and spring this week. It’s all a bit confusing to be honest, normally I’d be talking about transitions times rather later in the year.
However, that’s the nature of change I suppose. It’s here and we need to deal with it as best we can. And that’s not to say that all change is bad, some changes are wonderful, but change always requires adjustments.
We can use our yoga practice to help us cope with change. It can be the calm place of retreat when all around the seas of change rage. It can also provide a safe ‘laboratory’ to test how we cope with small changes in preparation for the bigger ones that come along.
So this week, whatever the weather, join me on the mat to find calm in the storm. We’ll practice making some small changes to see how we react and strengthen our ability to deal with ‘new’. Let’s move out of our habitual patterns and into new and exciting territory.
