A Balancing Act by Jacquelyn
Have you found balance in your life?
Although we’re not always conscious of it, we walk a lot of tightropes in our everyday lives. We’re constantly seeking the middle ground, a balance between one extreme and another. Between work and play, family and friends, giving and taking, time and money…
One of the trickiest balances to achieve is the balance between moving towards what we want and allowing it to come to us.
Let’s take for example finding a new job or achieving a promotion. If we fixate on the outcome alone there is a danger that we will only see that we don’t yet have what we want. I believe that there is a balance is to be found in clearly moving towards our goal and in allowing the universe to bring it to us.
I’m not talking about just wishing so hard it comes true. If only! If wishes were horses, every 8 year old girl would have a pony. 🙂
But, I do believe that if I’m clear about what I want, about why I want it and if it comes from a good place and a good intention without causing any harm to others, the Universe wants to help me.
In my mind, the key is that I need to work towards my goal. I can’t just sit back and assume that it will come to me. If I make a focussed and sustained effort towards the outcome I desire, I believe that things will start to fall into place that help me on my way.
Maybe it’s just that the focus and sustained effort help us to see opportunities that we might otherwise have missed but whatever it is, it feels like the Universe is there to support me and help me on my way whether it’s on or off the mat.
